TITLE: INFERTILITY: Its
Diagnosis and Treatment |
| DESCRIPTION: Infertility has a major
impact on the lives of a significant number of people. Within the United
Kingdom it is estimated that 1 in 6 couples are unable to have children.
Globally that figure is put at 1 in 10 with up to 25% of couples unable
to have a second child. For many couples a diagnosis of infertility can
lead to despair. The arduous nature of the diagnostic and treatment procedures,
the social stigma and psychological scarring that may follow the discovery
of infertility means that the utmost care and assistance is needed in
helping people with this problem. Infertility: Its Diagnosis and Treatment
is written for the many couples who, following a diagnosis of infertility,
desperately want a clear, well informed and comprehensive account of the
problems of infertility and the help and services available. It is also
aimed at the many professionals who, though involved with infertility
and specialists in their own area, lack the overall picture.
